On Jiang Yu's 40th birthday, she and Cheng Suran moved into their home in Finland.

The whole house, along with the yard, was carefully considered by them in every corner. All the furniture, from the double bed style to the toothbrush cup design, everything was personally chosen by them. After a year of  watching their dreamy nest gradually take shape, they felt a deep sense of accomplishment.

Cheng Suran divided the yard into entertainment areas and living areas.

The entertainment area is equipped with swings, hammocks, pavilions, and small tables and chairs, while the living area has two plots of land, one for growing flowers and grass, and the other for growing fruits and vegetables. It was winter now, and she had at least four months to learn about crop planting. When spring arrives next year, she would sow the seeds, and this quiet yard would come to life.

They will spend the winter in Finland this year.

As December arrived, Helsinki saw heavy snowfall. Thick snow covered the rooftops and roads, the lake froze, and the entire forest was blanketed in glistening white snow, resembling the icy kingdom from a fairy tale.

One day and night of continuous snowfall nearly submerged their yard.

Jiang Yu used a broom in her left hand and a shovel in her right hand to clear the snow in the courtyard. The winter days in high latitudes are very short. At three o'clock in the afternoon, it was already very dark. Streetlights lit up, casting a warm, gentle glow around her, elongating her already tall figure.

She and Cheng Suran had just returned from the Asian supermarket and bought some ingredients and daily necessities. They were going to have a barbecue at home tonight.

“Coco—”

Cheng Suran stood under the porch, looking out into the yard, then glanced at the dim sky above. "It's getting dark. We can finish this tomorrow. Come inside."

Having said that, she still put on her rain boots, picked up the broom next to the door, and ran over.

"There's still a little more to do." Jiang Yu shoveled the dirty snow in the corner of the fence. When she turned around, she almost bumped into Cheng Suran. She frowned, "What are you doing out here? It's so cold outside."

As she spoke, she put down the shovel and brushed away the broken hair from her forehead.

Cheng Suran smiled widely, revealing her two small canine teeth. "Sweeping together is faster."

Jiang Yu wanted to say something, but when she saw her bending down to work, serious and stubborn, she couldn't help but smile. She also increased the speed of her clearing.

A small car slowly passed outside the courtyard gate and stopped in front of the neighbor's fence ten meters away. A couple got out of the car, each holding a child, talking and laughing. Their voices carried far in the quiet and spacious surroundings.

The two children were similar in age. As soon as they stepped into the courtyard gate, they started chasing each other and playing.

Cheng Suran was sweeping the snow and was attracted by the laughter. She straightened up and looked at the neighbor's yard from a distance. Watching the young couple playing with their children was like a beam of refracted light, shining into the hidden corners of her heart, brightening her fantasies—

She imagined a warm and beautiful family.

"Ranran?" Jiang Yu shoveled the last bit of dirty snow into the iron bucket, but saw Cheng Suran in a daze, "What are you looking at?" She followed her gaze.

"Nothing." Cheng Suran looked away and looked around. The excess snow in the courtyard has been cleared away. Let's go in. "

She held Jiang Yu's hand.

Even though she was wearing cotton gloves, her hands were still cold after being outside clearing snow for so long. The cold made her shiver, she tightened her grip as she quickened her steps.

Jiang Yu followed Cheng Suran and placed the broom and shovel under the eaves of the corridor. Before entering the house, the two shook off the snow on their bodies. She looked at the neighbor's yard again, and the laughter was still there.

In this country, same-sex couples can not only get married but also raise children.

She remembered shortly after finalizing the paperwork for the house, they went shopping together to look for furniture. They saw a lesbian couple walking down the street with two little girls, holding hands naturally, and occasionally whispering affectionately to each other. They both witnessed the same scene but had different thoughts.

At that time, Cheng Suran said: "Look, they are so happy..."

There was a soft light in her eyes.

Jiang Yu also asked straightforwardly: "Do you want to raise children?" But there was no turmoil in her heart. She understood happiness as their own world, with each other by their side, accompanying each other through life.

Not to mention the presence of an extra person, even a small pet, is intolerable.

Then Cheng Suran looked at her.

"Do you want to?"

"No."

Afraid that it was what she thought, Jiang Yu answered faster and more firmly than any other words she had spoken since they were together. It was unclear whether she was resisting or pleading, "If we have a child, it means there is one more person in our world. and she will take away your attention, your love..." She poured out her heart.

A child would take away everything that was originally hers.

She was selfish.

She just wanted to have everything of Ranran to herself.

Cheng Suran listened but then smiled, "I don't have such strong feelings about it. It was just a passing thought. It's easy to see others raising children, but it's only when it's your own turn that you realize how troublesome it can be."

She gently held Jiang Yu's face with both hands and kissed her softly. "Jiang Coco, my love is only for you."

Jiang Yu felt relieved.

She would never compromise when it came to children.

If she didn't want it, she didn't want it.

After dark, there is no difference between four o'clock in the afternoon and eight o'clock in the evening. Only the street lamps outside emit a mixture of warm and cold light, illuminating the silence coldly.

The barbecue sizzled and spread its aroma.

Cheng Suran held her phone and typed quickly, her fingertips flying. Jiang Yu placed two pieces of grilled meat on her plate, and seeing Cheng Suran's slightly upturned lips as she typed, seemingly enjoying the conversation, she couldn't help but ask, "Who are you chatting with? You can't even focus on eating."

"Fang Yue." She replied smoothly.

"..."

Familiar name.

Fang Yue is Cheng Suran's junior sister. She worked as an intern at Yisheng for three months last year and has a very good relationship. She calls her "Sister Ranran" and, during her time in Jiangcheng, she frequently invited Cheng Suran out for meals. Occasionally, she even visited their home. Cheng Suran took special care of Fang Yue, providing her with growth opportunities, and introducing her to job opportunities, and in their personal lives, they often shared their feelings. Sometimes, when Cheng Suran wasn't in a good mood, the first person to know about it wasn't Jiang Yu but Fang Yue.

Jiang Yu lowered her eyes and said nothing.

They agreed that they would have a sumptuous meal tonight, with all kinds of barbecue and seafood prepared, but Cheng Suran only focused on chatting and didn't eat much. She finally put down her phone. After eating, the WeChat voice call rang again.

"What's wrong?" She walked away holding her phone.

Jiang Yu glanced at her back and cleaned up the mess alone. Clean the baking pan, put the dishes in the dishwasher, and then wipe the table.

A woman's gentle voice floated over from the balcony:

"Mm, the scenery here is really good. I took a lot of photos. It took me a long time to select the ones I wanted to post on my Moments..."

"I will pick you up then?"

"Don't be polite to me, it's fine, hahaha."

"Okay, okay, you are the cutest."

Jiang Yu wiped the table with a sponge ball, and her fingers unconsciously exerted force, causing water droplets to ooze out. She wiped the corners repeatedly. It wasn't until Cheng Suran hung up the phone and came in that she raised her head and asked, "Fang Yue?"

"Mm," Cheng Suran said with a smile on her face, "She said she wants to come to Finland."

"When?"

"About the middle of next month."

"You agreed?"

"Yes."

"..."

Jiang Yu lowered her head again, quickly wiped the table, and turned to go to the kitchen.

Behind her, Cheng Suran was still muttering: "Then I should make a travel guide so it'll be convenient to show her around when she comes."

She followed Jiang Yu into the kitchen while muttering to herself, "But we are going to see the Aurora next month. The hotel and bus tickets have been booked, but what should I do if there is no one to take her when she comes? Either reschedule or..."

—bang!

Jiang Yu kicked over the trash can.

"Coco?" Cheng Suran looked at her doubtfully.

Jiang Yu squatted down, lifted the trash can, picked up the leaked garbage, and threw it back into the trash can. Her long, flowing hair blocked the light, and her face looked a little gloomy.

When she didn't smile, her bony defined features seemed even more stern, exuding a cold and oppressive aura.

Like the calm before the storm.

"I'll pick it up."

Cheng Suran also squatted down, wanting to help, but before she could see Jiang Yu's expression clearly, the other party stood up, turned around quickly, and only said: "I'm going to take a shower."

Something is wrong.

"Jiang Coco!"

"Elder sister…"

The figure went straight upstairs.

The hot water filled with steam, and Jiang Yu stood under the showerhead, letting it wash over her, slowly exhaling. However, her frustration didn't diminish, and she quickly turned off the water, put on her pajamas, and headed out.

The puzzle she bought a few days ago was not completed yet. She sat at the table and studied it silently. About an hour later, she heard the footsteps on the stairs getting closer and closer. She caught a glimpse of Cheng Suran entering the room from the corner of her eye, and her eyes fell on her. Her train of thought stopped, and she clenched the puzzle pieces in her hands.

But Cheng Suran didn't come over. She just opened the closet, took out her pajamas, and went to the bathroom to take a shower.

"..."

How could she shower with a peace of mind? Jiang Yu stared at the puzzle, her brows furrowed tightly.

Ten minutes later, Cheng Suran came out of the bathroom, rustling for a while and saying nothing. Jiang Yu worked on the same piece over and over again, absent-mindedly. The subtle sounds suddenly disappeared.

A pair of hands hugged her from behind, and her moist breath was close to her ear: "Are you angry?"

Smelling the rich scent of shower gel, Jiang Yu calmed down a little, closed her eyes, and leaned into the arms of the person behind her, "No."

"Then kiss me."

"Shouldn't you be the one kissing me?"

"You're really angry."

"..."

Jiang Yu was choked and annoyed, frowning and struggling: "Sleep."

Cheng Suran chuckled twice, pecked the corner of her lips, and coaxed: "I will not change our plans because of others. I will definitely do what I promised you. In my heart, Sister is the most important."

Oh, she saw through her thoughts.

Jiang Yu's face warmed slightly. "She's not just 'someone else'."

"Ah, my little junior sister."

"You still know that she is a junior sister..."

"Where did the sour smell come from? It's so strong. Whose vinegar jar was knocked over?"

Cheng Suran sees like a mirror in her heart. After teasing, she came over seriously, hugged her, and said seriously: "Fang Yue has a boy she likes. I just treat her like a sister. She really has the temper of a little girl, loves to make trouble, and acts coquettishly. From now on, I will be careful." After saying that, she kissed her on the face.

Hearing her words, Jiang Yu realized she had been a bit petty and calculative.

She used to be very disdainful of these things.

Probably feeling embarrassed, Jiang Yu whispered "I know", pushed her away gently, and stood up: "I'm a little sleepy, I want to sleep."

When she walked to the bed, before her hand touched the quilt, Cheng Suran chased her and tackled her down.

She sank into the soft quilt.

"Elder sister…"

The ceiling light was a bit dazzling, Cheng Suran lay on her body, looking at her with puppy-like innocent eyes, and Jiang Yu's heart softened in an instant.

Just as she was about to say that she wasn't jealous, a series of kisses fell like raindrops.

"Why do you want to sleep? You obviously feel embarrassed, hahaha!"

"Cheng Suran, you..."

She's being teased again.

She wanted to push this woman down, but her hands were pinned so that she could not move. In this kind of thing, she always suffered the loss—she was afraid that tonight she would have to struggle until the early morning again.

Fang Yue did not come to visit as promised.

She said her work was too busy, and she couldn't find the time. She wanted to work hard while she was still young and at least earn a big house in her hometown.

This is exactly what Jiang Yu wants.

Young people should concentrate on their work. Traveling around is what a "retired rich woman" like her wants to do.

After Christmas is the best time to watch the Aurora. Cheng Suran booked the glass room hotel months in advance. Throughout the afternoon, she and Jiang Yu packed their luggage excitedly, went out in the dark at 7 or 8 o'clock, and boarded the train bound for Rovaniemi.

In a double-decker train, every two bunks is an independent small room, and the seats can be adjusted into small beds, so one can sleep for twelve hours.

This made Cheng Suran miss the domestic high-speed rail for a short time.

The climate in the Arctic Circle is even colder, and the whole city seems to have emerged from the snow. White has become the main theme. It is beautiful, but also a bit monotonous.

They thought they could easily see the Aurora when they arrived in Rovaniemi, so on the first day they stayed in the Glass House, they didn’t go anywhere and stayed in the hotel from afternoon to evening. There was snow in the sky, and thick clouds hung overhead. There were not many stars in sight, let alone the Aurora.

Fortunately, there is a ski resort about seven or eight kilometers away from the hotel. During the day, they went there to play and pass the time. After dark, they stayed in the glass house, waiting for the Aurora.

Snow country scenery is a high-quality photography material.

Cheng Suran took hundreds of photos, edited them every night while waiting for the Aurora, and carefully selected them, finally selecting more than 70 refined photos on Saturday night.

"Sister—." She patted Jiang Yu next to her and handed over the laptop, "I have selected the photos. Take a look."

Both of them had taken a shower and lay lazily on the bed in their pajamas. Jiang Yu was too tired from skiing during the day, and she had no strength to move anymore, but Cheng Suran was full of energy and could concentrate on editing pictures for more than two hours. She was so drowsy after taking pictures like this.

Jiang Yu, who was almost dozing off, suddenly became alert. She looked closer and asked, "Huh?"

"They were all taken according to the methods taught online. Isn't it good? Compliment me."

"How did you learn it? Are there any demonstration videos?"

Jiang Yu has been dealing with these elements all year round and has a keen intuition. Although she is not a professional photographer, she knows how to appreciate them. More than 70 photos, at first glance, don't look very impressive.

"Yes," Cheng Suran opened a certain software on her phone, "This is the original post."

Jiang Yu read it in silence, the corner of her mouth twitching slightly, and suddenly she couldn't hold back her laughter: "Hahaha... What others took are magazine-worthy shots, and what you took is like 'I was here' snapshots."

"What?"

Cheng Suran chewed on the latter part of her comment, savoring it. She suddenly felt both angry and amused, and she grabbed a pillow, throwing it towards Jiang Yu.

"Jiang Coco!" After throwing it, she plopped herself onto Jiang Yu's lap, but her knees supported her weight, so she would not crush her.

"You actually laughed at me?"

Jiang Yu wailed, unable to find the strength to resist.

A kiss like a storm fell on her lips.

She was lying on her back, her limbs were limp, her long hair was spread messily on the snow-white sheets, her eyes were blurry and darkened by the light, and she looked weak and vulnerable.

Cheng Suran felt hot for a moment, stretched out her hand, and pulled Jiang Yu's nightgown.

"Don't."

Jiang Yu looked panicked, grabbed her hand, and quickly looked above her head then left and right, "Not here."

The glass house is designed for viewing the starry sky. The ceiling and walls are fully transparent with 360-degree skylights. Only the part below the waistline is covered by curtains. Standing in the room, one could easily accidentally make awkward eye contact with guests in the neighboring rooms.

It's extremely insecure to do intimate things in this kind of room.

But exciting enough.

Cheng Suran knew it well, raised a wicked smile on her lips, and whispered in her ear: "We can turn off the lights."

After saying that, she quickly reached the bedside and pressed the switch.

The glass house fell into brief darkness.

The darkness gradually receded, revealing a multitude of stars twinkling in the night sky, as if they were within arm's reach. Overhead, an eerie green light shimmered, layered like fallen stars in a celestial lake.

"The Aurora has appeared, Ranran, look at the sky..." Before her lips were blocked, Jiang Yu grasped the life-saving straw given by nature.

Cheng Suran stopped and looked up, her eyes seemed to be lit up with sparks. She left Jiang Yu, rolled over, sat up, grabbed the camera, and rushed out.

The Arctic chill rushed over.

Her hands were shaking and she couldn't hold the camera steady, but she still had to try hard to lift it up to take a picture of this rare beauty.

A thick down jacket was draped over her shoulders.

Jiang Yu hugged her from behind and held her elbow, "Let's make a wish."

The camera freezes the picture instantly.

"Okay."

Cheng Suran breathed out mist, turned sideways, and pressed her cheek against Jiang Yu's ear. On the cold winter night, they absorbed each other's warmth in each other's arms.

"I hope Jiang Coco lives a long life."

"Same goes for Cheng Ranran."

In this way, they can be together for a long, long time.
