When more people came, the work went faster. They worked together, and soon they dug out two bodies under the ground.

They were one big and one small skeleton. A doctor executor already said they were two women. Both skeletons had different levels of damage.

With the blood on the first floor hall, Shu Yushuang guessed these two women must have suffered abuse before they died. But their real cause of death still needed more proof.

But some impatient people already ran out to find the village chief. They wanted her to explain why she put them in a murder house. Sun Tingting couldn't stop them, so she let them go.

Shu Yushuang didn't care about the noise. She squatted down and looked close at the two skeletons.

The two skeletons should've been buried for a long time. They showed light weathering signs. Their heads had no damage, but almost all other bones had some damage.

So terrible…

Shu Yushuang couldn't keep looking. These sad skeletons made her remember her painful childhood.

Qin Su saw Shu Yushuang’s pale face, and she felt her mood was wrong at once.

“Shuang… Shu Yushuang, it's passed. Don’t let those rotten people affect you again.”

“You make it sound so easy. If it was you, if you went through those things, can you still say that?”

Sun Tingting looked at Shu Yushuang strangely. She didn’t know what she meant. Shu Yushuang knew she lost control. She pressed her temple and stood up in a shaky way.

“I feel a bit sick, I’ll go rest first.”

Qin Su knew when to stop, and she didn’t say more.

This question scared Fang Xiqiong and made her break out in cold sweat. This young girl was still too young. How could she dare ask a ghost this kind of question?

The air got heavy for a while, but Qin Su didn’t want to waste this chance to talk with her. She tried to find something light to say.

“Why did you come to this kind of place? To clear your mind?”

“No, to find someone.”

“To find someone… a friend?”

“Mm.”

After she said that word, Shu Yushuang thought Qin Su, as a vengeful ghost in the dungeon, might know where Tang Yin was.

Because Qin Su seemed strong. Besides her own dungeon, she could also go into other dungeons.

But when she knew what Shu Yushuang was thinking, Qin Su didn’t hide it.

She had a strange urge to hug the ghost girl and comfort her.

But when she reached the door, she stopped.

What flashed by the window wasn’t a person. It was those two skeletons.

In the silent house, she could hear her heartbeat well. The sound was so strong that her ears ached.

Those two skeletons were likely the vengeful ghosts of this dungeon. If she chased them, she might face danger. But if she didn’t, she might miss an important clue.

Shu Yushuang only thought for one second before she ran out.

“Don’t…”  

Qin Su clearly wanted to stop her, but she remembered what Shu Yushuang said earlier. She swallowed the rest of her words. Let her go. There was danger outside, but it wouldn’t kill her. And Shu Yushuang wouldn’t let a clue slip away.

Shu Yushuang followed the two skeletons all the way to the street.

The sky wasn’t fully dark yet, but the street was already empty.

She kept a long distance behind them, but with no one else around, she still stood out. Luckily, the skeletons never looked back.

They walked and stopped again and again, as if they had no clear goal. Sometimes they pressed themselves on a window, listening to the sounds inside. Sometimes they left after a few seconds, sometimes they listened for more than ten minutes.

When they passed a house, Shu Yushuang also looked inside, but she didn’t see any difference between the houses the skeletons listened to for a few seconds and the ones they listened to for a long time.

After more than an hour, the two skeletons finally stopped for a long while in front of one home.

The houses here didn’t block sound well. Even from a distance, Shu Yushuang could hear a man’s roar and a woman’s crying inside.

“I’ve had enough of this life! When I married into your family, you didn’t say things like this. Why should I serve you every day now? So what if I hit you? Who’ll believe your lies? I’ll see if there’s really a ghost!”

But before he finished talking, the two skeletons slipped into the house without a sound. Shu Yushuang used the chance to move closer. From there, she could see everything happening inside.

The man, who was yelling just a moment ago, froze when he saw the skeletons. His face twisted in fear.

“F*ck, the bones came alive! H, how’s this possible? How can there be ghosts in this world? No, no way…”

The woman next to him, half her face swollen from his beating, looked at him with a cold smile.

“You men are all the same. Before marriage, you talk nicely. After marriage, you treat women like slaves.”

“Y-you, you’re lying!”

The man was so shaken he couldn’t speak well. He wanted to argue, but the skeletons didn’t give him any chance.

His body burst open without warning. In seconds, only broken flesh and pieces were left on the floor.

The woman beside him showed no reaction at all. She was just like the woman Shu Yushuang saw yesterday in the field.

They both already knew this would happen.

The woman thanked the skeletons. They didn’t respond. They only turned around and left quietly.

Shu Yushuang hid behind a tree at once. Her eyes never left the two skeletons.

But they seemed done with their task for the day and walked back the way they came.

Shu Yushuang pressed herself tight against the tree, scared they would see her. Fortunately, they didn’t look anywhere else.

When the skeletons disappeared from sight, Shu Yushuang finally stepped out from behind the tree.

Do they do this kind of work every day? But why was there nothing around the man who died in the field before?

Shu Yushuang stood there for a long time, considering the situation. Since she was already out, and the village chief's residence wasn't far away, she might as well go and find the other executors.

But the village chief's house was different; the whole house was brightly lit, and the light shining from inside illuminated the road in front of the door.
