Synopsis one:

Its premise is that a dominance hierarchy exists in humans, which are divided into dominant "alphas", neutral "betas", and submissive "omegas". ²in heat period, a cycle where the Omega character feels an urge to have sex for biological reasons outside of their logical control, during this period they emit pheromones with distinct scent to attract Alphas. The Alpha counterpart of this is 'rut'. A way to suppress this urge is:

1: to take suppressants/inhibitors [can be a patch or an injection to the glands, the easiest to access is the one on the nape–(glands location varies depending on author's personal setting, but most common is on the nape or on the neck)]

2: to get marked by an Alpha; by biting the glands and injecting their own pheromones + mating, this would mean that the Alpha who marked the Omega will be their lifetime partner.

3: to get temporarily marked by an Alpha, bite but no knotting--a period where both A and O will be 'locked' while doing it like the Alpha won't be able to get it out. (This is from what I understand, correct me if I'm wrong.) This is from a BL setting or where the female Alpha have a secondary genital. I don't know the Yuri setting without the 'pendant'.
