Chapter 30: Injured
The sound of a heavy object slicing through the air rang in her ears. Xiao Moyan sensed something, immediately lifted her head, and faced a pitch-black hard object. Almost instinctively, she raised her hand to block it. In just that moment, Xiao Moyan could clearly hear the crisp sound of bones breaking. However, the marble pen holder in Hu Feifei's hand did not pause. In the next second, it heavily struck Xiao Moyan's forehead. Her vision blurred, blood instantly traversed her fair face, and Xiao Moyan didn't even have time to say a word before falling backward.
Only when she saw Xiao Moyan collapse did Hu Feifei snap out of her rage. She retreated two steps in horror, unbelievably staring at Xiao Moyan's blood-streaked face. After a moment of shock, she dropped the blood-stained pen holder and ran outside. Yanking the door open violently, she collided with the chief secretary who was carrying two cups of coffee. The scalding coffee spilled onto the floor as the chief secretary hastily stepped back to avoid it. Looking up, she gazed in astonishment at Hu Feifei's fleeing figure. Sensing that something was amiss, the chief secretary didn't hesitate. She pushed open the door to the Vice President’s office and what she saw was Xiao Moyan lying in a pool of blood.
Mrs. Xu, who was cooking at home, received a call from the chief secretary and learned about Xiao Moyan's injury. She immediately panicked, dropped everything, and ran outside. It was only in the yard that she remembered she couldn't drive. She frantically dashed back into the house, picked up the phone, and called A'Sen. With a trembling voice, she told him about Xiao Moyan's injury, urging him to quickly take her to the hospital. Twenty minutes later, the two hurried to the scene. Xiao Moyan had already been rushed into the emergency room for treatment. The nurse stopped Mrs. Xu and A'Sen at the door, not allowing them to enter. Mrs. Xu, tearfully anxious, could only stand nearby and anxiously inquire about Xiao Moyan's condition. Hearing about the identity and status of the person who had just been brought in, the nurse dared not delay. She reassured Mrs. Xu not to worry, explaining that Xiao Moyan had only suffered a fractured arm and skull, with no life-threatening injuries. Upon hearing this, Mrs. Xu became frantic, pointing at the nurse and cursing loudly.
"Still not serious? Two fractures are still not serious?!"
After speaking, Mrs. Xu was about to rush inside with her old arms and legs. A'Sen looked surprised and quickly held her back, guiding her to a chair across the room to rest. Sitting in the chair, Mrs. Xu waited anxiously while crying. Xiao Moyan was her dearest, and she hadn't even had time to take care of Xiao Moyan before she was hurt so badly by Hu Feifei. She wasn't finished with Hu Feifei yet! When Xiao Moyan comes out of the operating room, she will demand justice from Hu Feifei even if it cost her her life! A'Sen's attempts to comfort her were in vain. He wiped the sweat from his forehead, took out his phone, and was about to call Xiao Nian. But he suddenly remembered the last words Xiao Nian said to Xiao Moyan before leaving home, his finger froze in mid-air, a bitter feeling lingering in his heart. If the Madam was here... A'Sen shook his head. Now he was just wishful thinking. At this moment, he must find someone who could genuinely take care of Miss. Thinking it over, A'Sen found Xia Lingying's phone number in his phone.
Now, he could only rely on Xiaxia...

Because it's the final few episodes of "Inseparable," mainly focusing on Jiang Feng's struggle with his family, there are only a few lines for Xia Lingying to deliver, pleading with his parents to accept her impoverished background. Her role is to endure tears silently. As for Lan Chen, she has little to do and is quite content to be idle, spending her days with hands in her pockets, chewing gum, and causing mischief around. Over time, Director Lin becomes annoyed with Lan Chen's antics, especially with the recent influx of publicity work. Therefore, he decided to shoot scenes with Lan Chen and Xia Lingying first, signaling for them to rest afterward.
In the dressing room, Xia Lingying tiredly took off her costume silently and sat on the chair to rest. She had almost spent the entire night without sleep yesterday, coupled with days of exhaustion. Her already frail body was severely overworked. Xia Lingying's cheeks were pale, and she leaned weakly against the back of the chair, closing her eyes slightly. Lan Chen, on the other hand, was calm. She casually stripped down to her sexy lace underwear in front of Xia Lingying, revealing her graceful figure. Even several experienced senior actors nearby couldn't help but show amazed expressions. However, when Lan Chen glanced at Xia Lingying from the mirror, she realized that Xia Lingying hadn't even looked at her, and felt a bit annoyed. Furrowing her brows, she spoke up,
"What's wrong with you? You seem so out of it all day."
Xia Lingying opened her eyes and glanced at her but remained silent, taking out her phone from her bag and checking her messages. Xiao Moyan never called her abruptly while she was filming; she only texted. Xia Lingying opened her inbox, and there was still a message from this morning. She couldn't help but frown. They had planned to have dinner together last night, so why hadn't she heard from her yet? Could something have happened? Lan Chen quickly put on a loose t-shirt and glanced back at Xia Lingying, who was still staring blankly at her phone, her brows furrowed.
Lan Chen felt a bit uneasy and approached her, tossing aside her costume and stepping closer, looking at Xia Lingying earnestly. "Xiaxia, you and Xiao Moyan couldn't possibly—"
Xia Lingying glanced at Lan Chen, silent and aloof, before standing up with a frosty expression. The two of them faced off, and suddenly, the sound of Xia Lingying's phone vibrating broke the tension. She immediately looked down at her phone, a flicker of surprise passing over her face, which didn't escape Lan Chen's eyes. A pang of bitterness surged through her as Xia Lingying quickly stood up, her face turning pale. Without even putting on her outerwear properly, she hurried out. Lan Chen hesitated for a moment before catching up with Xia Lingying and grabbing her hand.
"Xiaxia, what's wrong? What's wrong?"
"Xiao... Xiao, she was beaten by Hu Feifei. She's in the hospital..."
Xia Lingying's voice trembled, devoid of her usual composure. She rushed, her eyes filled with tears. How could this happen? She was fine this morning...
Lan Chen was taken aback, tightening her grip on Xia Lingying's hand.
"Don't worry. I'll drive you to the hospital!"
Xia Lingying nodded, rushing towards the parking lot, her heart in turmoil. Lan Chen followed behind, sighing from time to time. She now admired Hu Feifei to a certain extent. First, she had someone teach Xia Lingying a lesson but ended up hitting the wrong person, causing her to spend a week in the hospital. Now, before her shoulder had even fully healed, Hu Feifei had gone and hit Xiao Moyan, whom she professed to love. As a wealthy Young Miss, her temper was truly unmatched.
Seated in the car, Xia Lingying gritted her teeth, trying hard to calm her emotions. She picked up her phone and dialed A'Sen's number. On the other end, before A'Sen could speak, the phone was snatched away by Mrs. Xu. Mrs. Xu cried and poured out her grievances, her voice hoarse and desperate. When Xia Lingying asked about the extent of the injuries, Mrs. Xu uttered two words—covered in blood. Xia Lingying's heart was torn apart at that moment. She bit her lip tightly, forcibly holding back the tears that were about to overflow, her hand holding the phone trembling slightly.
Lan Chen also didn't dare to delay upon seeing the situation, her expression gradually becoming serious. She rushed through several red lights and quickly arrived at the hospital. Just as she parked the car, A'Sen, who had been waiting at the entrance, came over to greet them. Upon seeing him, Xia Lingying pushed open the car door and ran a few steps forward. Without much regard for formalities, she firmly grabbed A'Sen's hand, her eyes staring intently at him.
"How is she? What happened?"
A'Sen nodded reassuringly, "Because Miss used her arm to block it, it reduced the force, so it's not serious. It's just a cerebral hematoma, and the doctor said she needs rest."
Xia Lingying breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this, then hurriedly followed A'Sen inside. Lan Chen watched her, blinked, shook her head, and turned to leave.
The difference in treatment was quite significant. When she was beaten, Xia Lingying just brought some chicken soup, not shedding a single tear. But now that it was Xiao Moyan, she was making such a big fuss. What's the point of asking why? With Xia Lingying's indifferent personality, when has she ever been anxious for someone? Not even upon receiving news about her father... If it's not love, why would she act like this?
Upon entering the ward, Mrs. Xu leaned against the window, holding Xiao Moyan's hand and crying. Xiaxia rushed to the bedside, tears streaming down her face.
Xiao Moyan on the bed looked pale, almost translucent. Even in a coma, her brow was furrowed in pain. Thick bandages wrapped around her head and right arm, with transparent fluid dripping into her body through a tube. It was evident how severe her injuries were. Mrs. Xu heard footsteps and turned to see Xiaxia. She stood up and wiped the tears from her face.
"Xiaxia, I entrust Momo to you. Please take good care of her!"
Xiaxia nodded, blinked away her tears, and approached the bed. She lowered her head to look at Xiao Moyan, then gently held her cold left hand against her cheek, softly caressing it.
“Xiao..."
Bitter tears flowed into her mouth, and Xia Lingying covered her mouth, unable to say a word. It hurt, really hurt. If she hadn't been so stubborn and jealous in the morning, how could things have turned out like this?
Mrs. Xu sighed, turned around, and gritted her teeth as she said to A'Sen, "A'Sen, come with me to find Hu Feifei."
"Mrs. Xu, but..." A'Sen hesitated, glancing at Xiao Moyan on the bed. He knew well about Hu Feifei's powerful connections. If it weren't for that, Xiao Moyan wouldn't have tolerated her antics repeatedly. Seeing Mrs. Xu's increasingly cold expression and sharp eyes, A'Sen dared not say more and left to get the car. Just in case, he called his subordinates to accompany them. However, Xia Lingying didn't hear a single word of their conversation. She simply held Xiao Moyan's hand tightly, gazing at the person under the fluorescent light, now pale and devoid of the vitality of before. Tears of regret slowly streamed down Xia Lingying's cheeks.
Xiao...Why didn't I see my heart clearly until this moment?
A young nurse walked in and paused at the scene, her face slightly red. She had recognized Xia Lingying, knowing she was the hotly discussed lead actress recently. Remembering the saying that celebrities have an attitude, the nurse bit her lip and timidly handed over the thermos she was holding.
"Miss Xiao lost a lot of blood. She will definitely be thirsty when she wakes up. This is..."
Xia Lingying reached out to take the cup, nodded in thanks, and turned her gaze back to Xiao Moyan. The nurse blinked, closed the door, and quietly retreated. For a moment, only the two of them were left in the room.

Why are there still mosquitoes today, and why do they keep biting me? So annoying!
